Severely Restricted View Seats at Anfield – LFC v Saints

I was very happy and relieved after waiting so long to have managed to secure the last ticket on sale online once they came available for purchase. Trying to buy a ticket for a Liverpool home game in the Premier League is not easy and certainly not cheap.

Even though it was listed as a severely restricted view seat at Anfield I was not worried as all I wanted was to be at an EPL home game for the Reds.

Sure enough I think most of us have some when bought a restricted view ticket to an event, concert or game just so that we could be there and absorb the atmosphere. Well this is a short report on how or what I saw from my severely restricted view seat at Anfield.

The ticket is in Block 129 of the Anfield Road end stand. Row 35 seat 204 which is the very back row of this stand, and yes all the seats this far back and even a good number of rows in front of this one would be very similar.

What does a 42 GBP ticket get you at Anfield?

As you can see my ticket was for the corner area of the Anfield road stand. If you manage to get seats in the lower area then you’d have a pretty good view, however if you are in any of the back 10-15 rows then your view will diminish the further back you go.

The light in this panorama photo is not the best but you can get a feel of what it’s like at the very back corner at Anfield.

When most of the fans sat down the view is restricted but not to bad, the viewing gets a whole lot worse when the action is closer and the fans are excited.

As soon as one stands up they all stand up and then you’re lucky if you can see anything. The only thing you can base what happens on is the cheers or groans of the crowd.

At times I was stood with my feet on the chair holding on to the top of the stand with my head touching the roof just so I could get a glimpse of the action.

Even though it was a pretty average seat at the best of times I still enjoyed my experience at Anfield for my first EPL game, thankfully I had managed to see a Europa League game earlier in the week otherwise I probably would have been slightly disappointed.
