This was the last sea day of our 14 day Alaskan cruise. After doing back to back 7 day cruises we will be docking alongside at Canada place in Vancouver in the morning. Today though, we are cruising the Inside Passage, Alaska.
Cruise Day 14 – Inside Passage
Day 97 – June 7th, 2014.
Today was also the Mariners Society brunch, for all those returning HAL guests. Very similar to the Mariner lunch we had on embarkation day when we joined the ship in Vancouver at the beginning of that cruise. However today being the last day because of how the schedule for this week didn’t allow for an earlier opportunity.
Mariner Society Brunch on MS Oosterdam
It was the same meet and greet with the Captain and other crew as you entered the dining room. Then a speech by the Captain and Cruise director before we enjoyed our meals. Another plaque of the MS Oosterdam as a gift and thank you, I wonder how many of them are available on Ebay!!
Relaxing cruise through the Inside Passage
We made this a relaxing day instead of trying to do this and that, we just took it easy and watched the scenery flow by. Our first Scenic cruising through the Inside Passage at the start of the 14 days was beautiful.
It is ideal to just stay on the cabin balcony or as we did, spending a few hours in the Crows Nest at the top front of the ship with a couple of drinks and some music in the background, ahh what bliss.
Later in the afternoon we used up the last of the Internet credit and while Moni did that, I packed up the bags ready to leave outside the cabin for collection tonight.
Our last dinner in the Vista dining room
Once again a very good meal and service. The entire cruise long we have experienced very good service and great food. A wide variety of choice and well presented, never easy producing thousands of meals each sitting.
After dinner we watched the ‘Dancing with the stars of the sea’ show, which is a guest and crew team that have had a few practices during the cruise. Tonight is the final performance and the winner will be chosen by the audience. They were very good, and, however chosing the winner was easy for me.
Luggage collection on cruise ships
Heading back to the cabin, the luggage team were hard at it, each level there was a collection of bags growing.
These guys had lots of fun doing what they do, check out the short clip.
Always smiling faces on the cruise ship crew, no matter what they are doing. Unfortunately tomorrow we will have to disembark from the Oosterdam. She has been a fantastic ship and it was a wonderful Alaskan cruise.
