Day 260 – November 17th, 2014.
“Caribbean Cruise on Carnival Splendor – at sea, day 2”
After enjoying the sailaway yesterday from Miami it was no suprise that we slept well on the very comfortable bed with the cabin door ajar listening to the sea rush by with fresh air in the cabin. Room service arrived at 8.15. The tea water had a coffee flavour, Yuk. The citrus segments were disgusting, not fresh, tasted from a preservation liquid.
The smoked salmon and bagel were good, but could have done with a few more capers only had four.
After breakfast we showered and then went out and about, first to the coffee shop where Moni had a spiced pumpkin latte and I a normal latte, they were ok, nothing to shout about.
“Disgusting hair dryer in the cabin on Carnival Splendor”
I had to stop by at the guest relations desk to complain about the disgusting hairdryer in the cupboard of our cabin full of black hairs and also the open and nibbled chocolate that was on our bed last night.
The lady said that the chocolate was only melted!!! You could see that it was nibbled and it was already open when I went to open it which made me curious in the first place. You just can’t get good staff!!!
Needless to say that the hair dryer was cleaned ASAP.
A visit to the Library to get a book, except the books are all locked away!! with only a very small selection, lucky I spied one lonesome book that was on a swap and go trolley and so I grabbed it for Moni..lol
We then ended up in a shopping and port seminar which was all about the shops and what discounts you could have, not overly exciting for us, but the people were buying coupon books for $25 bucks real quick and they sold out in just a few minutes.
A lunch at the buffet, before heading to the art seminar, which was the same as many others just talking about the types of art and how the auction goes etc. I thought this was a really good sign at the lift.
“Relaxing on deck with a beer”
Next we rested up with a book at the pool side in the shade for a couple of hours and enjoyed a beer.
“Elegant night on Carnival Splendor”
Tonight was Elegant night and we were back in the cabin to get dressed up before heading down for a snack from the taste bar before dinner. Just down the corridor in the El Morocco room we saw the comedy show at 7.30 with Alex….. who was very funny.
At dinner we had a full table, all six of us. The other two couples had slept at this time last night having had a huge day in Miami. Dinner was ok, again average service and not very exciting menus.
We haven’t even seen a wine waiter. From here we spent some time listing to music from the band in the lobby before retiring to the cabin .
