An Evening out With Mika & Greg in Frisco and Dillon

We met Mika & Greg just last Friday when we went to the top of Decrum Mountain in Keystone for the Evo 3 Meet-up organised by Aaron.

Day 166 – August 15th.

The guys picked us up at our place in their jeep and we raced over the pass to Frisco just in time for ‘happy hour’ at Bagalis which is an Italian restaurant and bar.

We arrived at 5.40 and pleaded for a table anywhere… Their house rules are that you have to be either at the bar or in the restaurant to enjoy the happy hour, not outside, weird I know but hey… Unfortunately all tables inside were either occupied or reserved and the bar which is sit down only was full.

The only spaces were outside, go figure. Fortunately our pleading paid off and they let us sit and have happy hour out on the patio.

No wonder this place was busy, not only are the drinks half price, but some of the food as well. We promptly ordered our drinks, Moni & I beers with the guys having wine. Our waiter “Curt, I can get you you anything” was pretty cool and came back after a while with our drinks, getting near to 6pm we were anxious that our order would not be in time for the happy hour prices.

Lucky again for us, Curt said it would be no problem but keep it quiet, that’s why I’m blogging about it, sorry, lol

We ordered our meals and when they arrived enjoyed them. We had Proscuito pizza and a zucchini and caramelised onion pizza, both very nice, maybe could have done with a few more minutes to cook the base through, but for $7.00 that’s a steel.

All up we paid $25.00 for two beers and two pizza’s plus a 5 buck tip for Curt.

“Live music at Dillon Amphitheatre every Friday during summer”

We then made a quick pit stop at Mika & Greg’s place for them to grab a jacket and feed their two dogs, then off we went to for a very short drive to Dillon and the Amphitheatre to listen to a band. Each friday in summer they have a band playing from 7 to 9pm.

The place looked quite busy to us, but Greg said he had not seen it so empty. The locals really do get out and support their community that’s for sure. These Friday night bands playing live is all for FREE and they only ask for a donation to keep it funded, how cool is that.

We enjoyed some beers sitting on the rug that the guys had which kept our bums warm and dry from the slightly damp grass, listening to the band while watching the sky turn golden as the sun set behind the mountains.

As the evening progressed the area did fill up some more.

Just before 9pm we left and the guys brought us home, before saying goodnight and wishing each other a good life, hopefully to meet again in any one of the worlds awesome destinations on their list…
